Hey everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm hoping for some advice. I'm currently based in the UAE but I have a property back in Palo Alto that I'm getting ready to rent out. The kitchen is original from the 80s and honestly it's a bit of a disaster. I want to do a proper update with new cabinets and better storage but I'm doing all of this from halfway across the world which is stressful. I've been looking into kitchen renovation and custom cabinetry in Palo Alto because I think custom might actually be better for the weird L-shape of the room rather than trying to force stock sizes in. I've been searching around for local companies that do this kind of work but I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through a similar remote renovation. How did you handle picking finishes and making sure the layout works without being there in person? I'm worried I'll end up with something that looks nice in photos but is totally impractical for a family actually living in it.
